1. Agreement and App features
These Terms apply to TurtleNeck (the "App"), provided by the TurtleNeck developer (the "Provider"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Any mandatory law in your country or region continues to apply.
The App provides:
- Calibration of normal and warning phone-tilt positions
- Phone-angle checks using an Android device sensor
- Posture reminders based on your calibration
- Optional background detection and a floating widget
- Reports created from records stored on your device
The App has no account or sign-in. Posture data is processed on your device and is not sent to an operating server.
2. Not a medical device
TurtleNeck is a general wellness and habit-awareness tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
App alerts do not replace medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have pain, numbness, dizziness, or another symptom, contact a qualified healthcare professional.
3. Detection method and limits
- The App does not directly measure your neck angle or body posture. It compares phone-tilt readings with your calibration.
- False alerts, missed alerts, delays, or interruptions can occur because of phone placement, sensor differences, calibration, user behavior, Android versions, or manufacturer restrictions.
- Background detection and the floating widget work only while enabled and while required Android permissions remain granted.
- Calibrate the App for your own environment and treat every status as guidance only.
4. Safety, acceptable use, and permissions
Do not operate the App, widget, or phone screen while driving, cycling, operating dangerous equipment, or doing anything that requires your full attention.
Do not use the App for an unlawful purpose, to violate another person's rights, or to bypass Android security. Except where law permits, do not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, or commercially resell the App.
A supported Android device with a gravity sensor or accelerometer is required. Notifications, a foreground service, and display over other apps support alerts, background detection, and the floating widget. Features can be limited when permissions are denied or Android background restrictions apply.
5. License, purchases, and refunds
The Provider grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes while you follow these Terms. Ownership of the App and its intellectual property is not transferred.
Google Play processes purchases and payments. Cancellations and refunds follow Google Play policy and mandatory consumer law in your country or region. The Provider does not directly store your payment method details.
6. Changes, availability, intellectual property, and liability
The Provider may update or change features for quality, security, Android compatibility, Google Play policy, or legal compliance. Some features may be limited or discontinued when technical or legal requirements change.
The App's software, TurtleNeck name, logos, characters, images, text, and screen designs belong to the Provider or their lawful owners.
The Provider will use reasonable efforts to maintain stability and accuracy, but cannot guarantee perfect detection or uninterrupted operation on every device. To the extent allowed by law, liability may be limited for indirect or unforeseeable losses outside the Provider's reasonable control. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
A minor must obtain parent or guardian consent before purchase or use when required by local law. These Terms do not remove any mandatory consumer rights available in your country or region.
7. Changes to these Terms and contact
These Terms may be updated for changes to the App, business practices, or law. Material changes will be announced through the App, Google Play listing, or this website before they take effect when required.
